People and Culture Partner, Trella
Rimsha Khan is working as a People and Culture Partner at the tech startup, Trella. She is part of the initial Operations Team in Pakistan and works closely with management to set up seamless HR operations for the Pakistan office. As an undergraduate from IBA, Karachi, Rimsha is a passionate HR professional with a zeal to excel in the field by unleashing hidden potential of all individuals.
She was previously associated with Signify (Formerly Philips) as an HR Generalist for 3 years whilst working on multiple regional collaborations. In her brief career, she has been exposed to multiple areas of HR and is now ready to use all this knowledge to become an effective HR Business Partner. An avid public speaker and a communication pro, Rimsha is a creative and well-rounded HR professional whose aim is to learn continuously to develop in the rapidly changing HR environment.
Rimsha’s judgement on her journey to get herself SHRM certified has been that;
“Getting myself SHRM certified has been one of the bravest and courageous decisions. Until now, it had always been about “what needed to be done”. The trajectory is usually to get through school and then undergrad, work in a corporate environment etc. Once I checked all these boxes, I realized there was a lot more that could be done and achieved to excel in my HR career. It was liberating to make a decision which solely resided on myself, my capabilities and my resolution to make it happen.”
With regards to her view on the course she says; “The structure of the certification is such that it has advanced my theoretical knowledge of HR by leaps and bounds and adds to it by facilitating practical implementation as well. I feel a difference when making business decisions at work – it has altered my thinking from ‘what is required of me’ to ‘what will help the business and our internal customers’. I am so glad to have taken this course and eventually pass it! “
When Rimsha was asked what was her advice to other HR professionals she said: “For all individuals, especially HR professionals who doubt themselves every day when thinking of making such a decision; this requires a lot of effort and investment as well – I’d say: Take a leap of faith, invest in yourself and your passion. This is the time to call the risky shots and everything else will fall into place. Believe in yourself and your capabilities – we rarely realize the potential we have and how it can single handedly take us to places. “
