Moneeza Usman
Moneeza Usman Butt is a distinguished Partner at KPMG Pakistan, bringing 26 years of extensive professional experience in audit and assurance services. She holds the remarkable distinction of being the first female partner among the Big Four audit and advisory firms in Pakistan. Moneeza qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) in 2000 and ascended to the role of partner in the audit function at KPMG in 2008. In her current capacity, she oversees the audit, supervision, and finalization of audits for various large local and multinational organizations across diverse sectors. Additionally, Moneeza serves as the Quality Performance Liaison Partner for KPMG Pakistan.
Her expertise and leadership have made her a sought-after speaker and panelist at numerous conferences and seminars. Moneeza’s contributions to the industry have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including being named one of the 100 Miracle Women in 2015 by The Pond’s Miracle Journey of Unilever, a Woman of Inspiration in 2016 by Ladies Fund, CA Woman of the Year in 2018 by ICAP, and receiving the Business Excellence Award in 2020 from Biz Today International. She was also awarded the Best Woman Practitioner 2024 by SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accountants) in Nepal, and the Most Influential Finance Woman Leader 2023 by Berkeley Middle East UAE. Locally, she received the Digital Leaders Award 2024 by Digital Leaders Pakistan.
Moneeza is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of professionals through her involvement in ICAP’s mentorship program. She actively participates in community service as a member of the Rotary Club of Karachi and Women for Board Allies. In 2022-2023 she served as Treasurer on the Board of Rotary Club of Karachi. In 2021, she successfully contested the Regional Committee election of ICAP, securing a seat on the Southern Regional Committee (SRC), where she now serves as Vice Chairperson. Moneeza contributes to various committees within ICAP, including the Investigations Committee and the Best Corporate & Sustainability Report Awards by the Government Relations Committee. In 2024, she has been nominated by the Government of Sindh as a Syndicate member for Karachi Metropolitan University.
Passionate about gender equity, Moneeza advocates for harnessing the talents of women in the workplace. Moneeza completed her Senior Cambridge education at the Convent of Jesus & Mary in Karachi and her Intermediate studies at St. Joseph College, Karachi. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP).
