Hira Jawad
Manager Human Resources, Appiskey
Hira Jawad is currently working as a Manager HR in Appiskey. During her seven years in the industry so far, she got hands-on experience in multiple HR areas ranging from Recruitment, Organizational Development, Training & Development, Employer Branding, etc. to Employee Engagement, which is her forte. Being quite a ‘People Person’, Hira takes pleasure in being part of HR and getting to deal with people daily, and learning from their stories. She believes in creating a fulfilling & trouble-free workplace for others and for herself, where everybody aspires to work harder, and smarter relishes to come to work every day and gives their very best. It fascinates Hira to drive people towards a collective goal, managing them in new ways throughout their employee life cycle. She sees it as an absorbing journey, but continuing to learn new ways to navigate through this journey has to do with more than following the same scripts, patterns and practices, hence, she opted for SHRM; which, needless to say, has been a tremendously fulfilling experience, according to her.
“Learning for SHRM certification has been a very productive, satisfying & thought-provoking activity. Mostly we think that because we are already on the job, our on-the-job learning is enough, but that is just one small part of a playing field; SHRM provides you the insights of the best practices in every HR related matter, which you cannot learn otherwise. I feel particularly confident in my knowledge & understanding of matters and the global perspective that this certification has helped me acquire.” Hira Jawad commented after attaining the SHRM certification through HR Metrics. SHRM certification enables the organization to increase its effectiveness and stimulate growth and development. Hira, a seasoned HR professional who has been in the industry for seven years now, recommended that every organization should consider incorporating SHRM certification as a prerequisite to hire HR professionals as it provides with essential yet practical knowledge of effectively managing people in your organization with a focus on aligning employee performance with the strategic goals. According to her, having a resourceful & up-to-date HR team can serve as a competitive advantage to the organizations.
In Pakistan, SHRM Certifications have been introduced by Zahid Mubarik SHRM-SCP, GPHR, SPHRi, CEO HR Metrics. The SHRM Certification provided by HR Metrics is recognized globally in all industries. Lastly, Hira advised, “Being an HR professional at this point in time of the 21st century, renewing our knowledge and reinventing our skills & prowess are a must. The world is changing at a faster pace, then it ever did; and so are employees’ attitudes/aspirations/motivations and our organizations’ external environments, which make the need to unlearn, quite imperative. we need to be confident about our knowledge-base & adroitness to deal with the rapidly changing situations, for which always be on a hunt for new avenues of learning & keep challenging yourself to the best of your abilities”.
