Usman Siddiqui
Senior Human Resources Officer, Pakistan Petroleum Limited
Usman Siddiqui is a Master of Public Administration with majors in HR and Marketing from University of Karachi. He is also a Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) from a Pakistan Institute of Quality Control (PIQC). He completed Train the Trainer certification program organized by Carnelian, Pakistan with distinction. He has also attended Management Training Program (MTP) at Osaka Japan organized by Human & Industrial Development Association (HIDA), Japan.
He has been associated with Pakistan Petroleum Ltd, the pioneer of the natural gas industry in the country, for over 16 years. During his association with PPL, he has been posted at various Company locations situated in different areas of the Country overseeing Administration, Industrial Relations, People Management at Site. Along with being part of other enabling functions at Company locations, he remained associated with Learning & Development function of PPL at Head Office and managed development needs of staff and capacity building initiatives for young professional.
He was an active member in the implementation of Training & Development matrix and redesigning of L&D function. He has a passion for developing content that best suits the requirement of the staff and compliment in their upskilling. According to Usman the objective to attend a program will help him grow professionally and acquaint himself with globally accepted emerging trends in HR . He had the opportunity to hone his skills and learn a lot about all facets of HR.
Presently, Usman is part of PPL’s talent acquisition function and managing the human capital needs of technical and support staff of the Company. He his also part of the team managing the implementation of cloud-based system – SuccessFactors for Recruitment. Usman strongly believes that sharing of best HR practices in different sectors can help in building a more comprehensive and structured environment that can be beneficial for both employer and employees. After getting SHRM Certification, Usman believe that he can approach problems from a different vantage point. The learning will not only help him in tackling routine issues, it will also help in developing long term strategies. The best part is that it is not limited to one area of HR and covers different aspects of this field.
At the end Usman feel privileged to learn from the highly experienced instructor Mr.Umer Bhutta and immensely talented HR professional Mr. Zahid Mubarik from HR Metrics, who guided him in a very systematic manner to approach the certification. It was also a good opportunity to connect with fellow HR professionals from different sectors who shared best practices and experiences at the workplace and also helped each other in achieving this certification. Kudos to HR Metrics team to be available for their assistance and guidance related to SHRM platform.
